Napolcom identifies police involved in missing sabungeros case

admin July 4, 2025

THE National Police Commission (Napolcom) has announced the identification of several police officers allegedly implicated in the disappearance of several cockfighters. According to reports, these officers will be summoned to face an administrative investigation.

This development follows statements made by Julie “Dondon” Patidongan, alias Totoy, one of the accused in the case, who claimed that certain police officers were involved in the disappearance of the victims. The Napolcom’s move underscores its commitment to a thorough and targeted investigation into the matter.

Napolcom Vice Chairperson Atty. Rafael Calinisan confirmed the identification of the implicated officers, stating, “We are not blind. We know where the investigation is headed. Our investigation is targeted.”

While he acknowledged possessing the names of those involved, he refrained from publicly disclosing them at this stage of the investigation.

This cautious approach likely reflects a desire to maintain the integrity of the ongoing process and to avoid jeopardizing potential arrests or compromising the collection of further evidence. The administrative investigation will likely delve into the extent of the officers’ involvement and determine the appropriate disciplinary actions.

The investigation into the disappearance of the cockfighters remains a high-profile case, attracting significant public attention and raising concerns about police accountability.

The Napolcom’s decisive action in identifying and summoning the implicated officers is a significant step toward addressing these concerns and ensuring justice for the victims and their families.

The outcome of the administrative investigation will be crucial in determining the level of culpability and the appropriate sanctions against the involved police officers, setting a precedent for future cases involving alleged police misconduct.
