Falling cement slab damages SUV, injures driver on Ninoy Aquino Ave

A DRIVER was injured and his SUV severely damaged after a large piece of cement fell from the Skyway onto Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City on Wednesday.

According to a report from Super Radyo dzBB, the driver sustained head injuries and was taken to a hospital. The SUV’s roof and windshield were completely destroyed.

Initial reports from Skyway Marshall indicate that the victim was traveling underneath the expressway towards NAIA Road when the cement slab fell. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.

The investigation will focus on determining whether there was a structural failure or other contributing factors that led to the cement slab falling from the Skyway.

The incident highlights potential safety concerns related to the structural integrity of elevated roadways. Authorities are expected to release further details as the investigation progresses.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of regular maintenance and inspections of infrastructure to prevent similar accidents.
