Russian vlogger arrested for harassing Pinoys in BGC

admin April 3, 2025

OPERATIVES from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) have apprehended a Russian vlogger who gained notoriety on social media for his insulting and abusive behavior towards Filipinos in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City.

BI intelligence division chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr. confirmed the arrest of Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, 33, after he was identified as an undesirable alien following his viral social media posts. The BI emphasized that the arrest of the foreign national is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and maintain order, in line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.’s commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of Filipinos.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stressed that while Filipinos are known for their hospitality, foreign visitors are expected to respect local customs and abide by Philippine laws.

“The Philippines welcomes visitors from all over the world, but those who abuse our hospitality and violate our laws will be held accountable,” Viado stated. “Harassment and disruptive behavior have no place in our society, and we will take swift action against offenders.”

Prior to his arrest, Vitaly faced widespread outrage from netizens after posting videos of himself harassing Filipinos while filming in BGC.

The arrest was conducted in coordination with the PNP Makati and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG). A police blotter was filed with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Southern Police District by a security guard stationed in BGC, citing harassment. The CIDG promptly contacted BI intelligence operatives, who executed the arrest based on a mission order issued by Viado.

Vitaly has been transferred to the BI detention facility inside Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig, pending deportation proceedings.

“Our laws exist to protect the welfare of Filipinos,” Viado emphasized. “Let this serve as a reminder that while we welcome visitors, those who fail to respect our people and our laws will face the consequences.”
