FORMER heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman has passed away at the age of 76, his family announced via Instagram on Saturday.
The statement expressed profound sorrow, noting that Foreman died peacefully on March 21st, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
The family described Foreman as a “devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather,” highlighting his unwavering faith and commitment to his family. They also celebrated his accomplishments as a humanitarian, Olympian, and two-time world heavyweight champion. The statement concluded with a request for privacy during this time of mourning.
Foreman’s boxing career was legendary. He won an Olympic gold medal and later achieved two reigns as world heavyweight champion. He famously fought in two of history’s most memorable boxing matches: “The Fight of the Century” against Joe Frazier in 1971 and “The Rumble in the Jungle” against Muhammad Ali in 1974.
Beyond the ring, Foreman achieved remarkable success with the George Foreman Grill, a kitchen appliance that has sold over 100 million units since its launch in 1994, cementing his enduring legacy far beyond the world of boxing.
