THREE individuals were arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group in separate operations for selling fake government IDs online.
“Marie” was apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on February 5 after selling fake PhilHealth and tax identification cards through Facebook. In Zamboanga City, two other suspects, “Chan” and “Nica,” were also arrested on February 9 for using the same modus operandi.
The suspects admitted to selling over 20 fake IDs at P600 each.
Authorities are urging the public to report similar cybercrimes, warning that fake IDs can be used for fraud and other illegal activities.
