THE 114 employees of an online lending app arrested in a Makati City raid will be transferred to a Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility.
Currently detained at the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), they await a commitment order from the Makati City Regional Trial Court.
Their request to halve the P250,000 bail per person was denied by the court, according to PAOCC executive director Gilbert Cruz.
The employees face Data Privacy Act violations for allegedly harassing and intimidating app users. Initially, 131 workers were arrested on January 31st, but 17 agreed to cooperate as witnesses and were not charged.
