THE Department of Health (DOH) is closely monitoring respiratory illnesses, particularly the flu, which is currently on the rise in China.
Dr. Irvin Miranda of the DOH said the agency is on standby and may issue advisories not only to the Quiapo Church leadership but also to the public to ensure a safer celebration of the event.
Miranda expressed hope that the situation wouldn’t escalate.
The DOH has raised the code white alert for Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon regions to respond to any potential developments.
Additionally, 20 health emergency response teams will be deployed for the Traslacion, and referral hospitals are on alert.
