CLASSES in public schools (all levels) and government work are suspended in Metro Manila and Region 4-A (Calabarzon) on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, according to Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
“The suspension of work and classes for private schools, companies, and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads,” Bersamin said.
Earlier, the President’s office was criticized because the announcement of the suspension of work in government offices was allegedly made late. Employees had already reported for work before Malacañang declared the work suspension. Because of this, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. ordered that the announcement be made earlier, and if possible, before bedtime, to allow students and employees to adjust.
