THE Senate announced Monday it was releasing from its custody Nancy Gamo, the former accountant of embattled Bamban, Tarlac Alice Guo, following her cooperation in their probe into illegal POGOs.
“Malaya na po kayo sa jurisdiction ng komite,” said Sen. Risa Hontiveros, chairperson of the Senate panel leading the investigation.
Gamo was arrested on July 13 and had been held by the Senate since.
During Monday’s hearing, Gamo admitted having served as Guo’s accountant in some of her companies but denied having knowledge of the Mayor’s alleged illegal activities.
Meanwhile, the Senate panel also lifted the contempt citation of Dennis Cunanan, who was accused of having ties to the illegal POGO in Porac, Pampanga.
“For the record, the citation in contempt of Mr. Cunanan who presented himself today voluntarily for this hearing is hereby lifted,” Hontiveros ruled, as reported by ABS-CBNews.
Gamo and Cunanan were both ordered arrested by the Senate, along with Guo and others, after they snubbed the invitations to appear in the previous hearings.
Hontiveros said Gamo and Cunanan, as well as other resource persons present on Monday, would likely be invited again in their next hearing.
