THE Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) together conducted an anti-illegal drug operation that resulted in the confiscation of P3.4 million worth of ‘shabu’ last January 30, in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
The said operation resulted in the arrest of a certain Dennis Balaba, 45, a resident of barangay Lakandula of the same city.
Seized items include five knot-tied transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 500 grams.
The PNP is preparing the appropriate charges for violations of Section 5 in relation to Sections 26 and 11 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
“The PNP will continue to coordinate with other law enforcement agencies in our aim to join forces in our drive against illegal drugs.
The operation became successful because of the effective planning and intelligence gathering undertaken by the PNP and PDEA,” PNP Chief General Dionardo Carlos said referring to the concerted effort to increase the enforcement of anti-drug operations grounded on strategic monitoring of these illegal activities.
