THE Department of Health announced the negative level in the growth rate of Covid-19 cases in the National Capital Region.
The health department added the positivity rate and reproduction number have also decreased to 50 percent and 2.6 percent, respectively.
Dr. Guido David of OCTA Research however said that although the numbers in the NCR have improved, there is no reason to rejoice because cases have spiked in other regions.
David said during the Laging Handa briefing on Monday that the growth rate in the NCR decreased to -1 percent based on Sunday’s case data.
The NCR reported 15,969 cases on Sunday.
“Hindi pa tayo pwedeng mag-celebrate kasi yung peak hindi natin masasabi. hihintayin natin in the next few days kung talagang mas mababa yung kaso,” David said.
Despite the decreases in the NCR, other areas are experiencing sudden increases in cases, such as in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and Western Visayas.
