REPRESENTATIVES Ron S. Salo expressed his concerned on the safety of our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) captured by the Hamas.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected OFWs and their families during this challenging time. The safety and well-being of our kababayans is of utmost priority, and our government needs to ensure their swift and safe return to their loved ones,” said Salo in a statement.
“We urge our Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) to do everything to ensure their immediate safe release,” the solon added, House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs chair.
The solon also called on the international community to support our country’s efforts of ensuring that the rights and well-being of our OFWs, as well as all the others who were captured, are respected.
“We urge all parties involved to exercise restraint and adhere to international humanitarian laws.
To the families affected, please know that we are with you every step of the way,” Salo added.
“In these trying times, let us stand united as one nation, extending our support and prayers to the safe and swift return of our fellow Filipinos in distress, and for this international crisis to be resolved and end immediately,” the solon concluded.
