A WOMAN was arrested and is facing serious physical injury charges for allegedly throwing muriatic acid on the face of a building administrator in Pasay City on Wednesday.
According to the city police chief, Col. Froilan Uy, the suspect was identified as Desiree Torres, who was taken into custody at 3 p.m. at Dasman Residence in Barangay 162, Malibay, Pasay City.
The unidentified victim, 32, lost her vision after the suspect threw muriatic acid on her face, according to a Manila Bulletin report.
The motive for the attack was not immediately clear, but Torres was turned over to Substation 6 in Malibay after she was arrested by responding barangay watchmen, the report said.
Uy said the police were investigation what prompted the alleged attack.
The suspect is currently detained at the police custodial facility and will face a serious physical injury case, according to police.
