THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned the registered owner of a vehicle whose driver figured in a road rage incident with fellow motorists in Cavite province.
The LTO issued the show cause order after a video of the incident went viral online, prompting an investigation.
According to the order signed by LTO- Region 4A regional director Cupido Gerry Asuncion, the male driver who got involved in the road rage incident was not the registered owner of the car, which was registered under the name of a woman from Rizal province.
“You are directed to submit your response under oath within five days from the receipt hereof why no disciplinary action should be taken against you,” the order read in part.
In a statement, LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said the issuance of the order was part of the investigation procedure.
There are also efforts to identify the male driver who was reported by the man who shot the video as under the influence of liquor when the incident happened, he added.
Based on the video, a Honda CRV with plate number REN-123 was seen swerving on a public road in an apparent bid to block the vehicle from behind to pass.
The driver then stopped the vehicle and confronted the driver of the vehicle behind him, cursing at the occupants of another vehicle.
