WITH 31.4 percent (%) of the country’s total fisheries production, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) remains to be the biggest fish producer in the country in the 2nd Quarter of 2023.
This is according to the latest Fisheries Situation Report released by the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Region 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula), Region 3 (Central Luzon), Region 6 (Western Visayas), and Region 4B (MIMAROPA) complete the Top 5 with 13.8%, 9.4%, 8.7%, and 7.0%, respectively. The rest of the PH regions contributed 29.6% of fish and fishery products to the total production volume for the quarter.
