THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced the rescue of three minor victims of sexual abuse and exploitation in Ronda, Cebu by operatives of NBI-Anti Human Trafficking Division (NBI-AHTRAD).
According to the information relayed by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) through the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Center (PICACC), one Victor Daniel Ibarra, an Argentinian national, was arrested in Sydney, Australia for possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM) of three minor female victims.
It was also revealed that Ibarra has a Filipina partner residing in Cebu, older sister of the three minor-victims.
Acting on the said information, NBI-AHTRAD together with NBI-CEVRO and social workers from Department of Social Welfare and Development – Region VII (DSWD-VII) office proceeded to the residence of the minor victims which resulted in their rescue.
NBI-AHTRAD recommended the filing of charges for violation of Section 4 of R.A. 9208, as amended and violation of Section 4 pf R.A. 9775 in relation to R.A. 10175.
