THE annual “Traslacion” of the Black Nazarene remains suspended next year as COVID-19 continues to be a threat among the public.

The decision was made following a consultation dialogue between Fr. Douglas Badong and other officials of Quiapo Church and the city government of Manila.
Also present during the meeting were representatives from the Manila Police District, the Philippine Red Cross, the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau.
According to MPD Director Gen. Leo Francisco said that a minimum of 8,000 police personnel will be deployed during the feast itself.
He added that additional manpower may be made depending on the need of the situation and the alert level statuses of the city of Manila come January 2022.
To recall, Traslacion 2021 was also declared suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
