A MAN tagged as one of the alleged killers of publicist Bubby Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito was arrested after 22 years of hiding.
The National Capital Region Police Office, Chief, PMGEN Jonnel C Estomo expressed his approbation to the joint elements of RIU7-Cebu CIT (lead unit), Pulilan MPS, RIU3, RIU NCR, CTD IG, TSD IG, Cebu CIU, Cebu CPO, and RSOG NCRPO for the successful service of warrant of arrest to National Level Most Wanted Person with Reward.
Based on the received report, at about 1:10 PM on January 22, 2023 at Brgy. Poblacion, Pulilan, Bulacan, joint operatives conducted a police operation that led to the arrest of the accused who was identified as SPO1 William Reed, 57, a former PNP member.
The arrested accused has a pending WOA dated May 25, 2001 signed by Hon. Rodolfo Ponferrada, Presiding Judge RTC Branch 41, Manila docketed under CC # 01-191969 for Double Murder with no bail recommended in connection to the killing of Salvador Dacer and Emmanuel Corbito on November 24, 2000 in Makati City.
The suspect, police said, is included in the list of Most Wanted Persons (National Level) as stated in DILG Memorandum Circular No 2003-106 dated January 10, 2023 with Php 250,000.00 reward.
Dacer was a publicist from Albay province. His clients included many of the top figures in Philippine politics that include the late president Fidel Ramos and former president Joseph Estrada.
Dacer and his driver Corbito were abducted in Makati City in 2000and were later killed.
The suspect is temporarily detained at RSOG detention facility prior to the return of his Warrant of Arrest to the court of origin.
“I am overwhelmed with their extraordinary feat that after 22 years of hiding before the law, the accused is now apprehended and the victims and their families will be catered with justice. I admire the dedication of our operating units in the fight against all forms of criminality particularly on the arrest of Most Wanted Person. What they have achieved is a remarkable accomplishment on our part and a relief to all the victims of this person,” Estomo said.
