
TEN members of communist group voluntarily surrendered to authorities along with their firearms over the weekend, December 17 and 18, 2022, Police General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr announced.
According to the report submitted by PBGEN Cesar R Pasiwen, Regional Director, Police Regional Office 3, Azurin confirmed the surrender of three members of ANAKPAWIS Bulacan Chapter to personnel of 2nd PMFC together with Limay MPS, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) Bataan, Bataan 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Regional Intelligence Division 3 (RID 3), Bataan Provincial Intelligence Team (PIT), Regional Intelligence Unit 3 (RIU 3), 21st Special Action Company (SAC), 2nd Special Action Battalion (SAB), PNP Special Action Force, 70IB, 72MICO, and 7MIB of Philippine Army (PA).
The three former rebels also turned in one unit Colt Cal .45 with no serial number and two live ammunitions to authorities.
Azurin disclosed that a former member of New People’s Army (NPA) along with one (1) revolver cal.38 without serial number, six (6) pcs of caliber .38 live ammunitions and one (1) MK2 hand grenade surrendered to personnel of 1st PMFC together with Bulacan PIU, BULACAN PECU, 2nd PMFC, 301st MC RMFB, 24th SAC, 2SAB PNP SAF, and 70IB PA.
Meanwhile, in Tarlac, the joint elements of PNP and PA facilitated the voluntary surrender of former member of Komiteng Larangang Guerrilla-Tarlac-Zambales (KLG TAR-ZAM); a former Milisyang Bayan Member; and a former member of Anak Pawis.
The two surrenderers also turned in one (1) unit of homemade shotgun without serial Nr., one unit of cal. 38 revolver without serial number, and two (2) Rifle Propelled Grenades (RPG).
Furthermore, two former members of CFO Anakpawis and Gabriela voluntarily surrendered to elements of Olongapo City Mobile Force Company (OCMFC) Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO) together with other police units wherein they turned in one piece homemade caliber .38 revolver without serial number, loaded with four live ammunitions.
Moreover, a former member of Underground Mass Organization also surrendered to joint elements from Zambales 2nd PMFC, PIU Zambales PPO, 305th MC RMFB3, San Felipe MPS, San Narciso MPS, San Marcelino MPS, and Subic MPS.
“Sa mga natitira pa nating kababayan sa kabundukan na ngayon ay may pag-aalinlangan pa ring sumuko, ang ating gobyerno at ang kapulisan ay andito lamang upang kayo ay tanggapin sa inyong pagbabalik loob sa panig ng ating pamahalaan. At ang ating hangad, sa darating na mga araw ay makasama natin sila upang maranasan din nilang mamuhay ng payapa at walang takot,” Azurin said.
