PHILIPPINE National Police Chief, Police General Dionardo Carlos, today announced the release of P8,190,063,990.13 funds to pay for the mandated 2021 Year-End Bonus and cash gift of 222,418 PNP personnel.
Carlos said the funds are from the regular PNP appropriations programmed in the agency’s 2021 budget.
In a report to the Chief PNP, PNP Finance Service Director, Police Brigadier General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr said the year-end bonus and cash gift has been credited to the individual payroll accounts of PNP Personnel with the Land Bank of the Philippines on November 18, 2021.
The year-end bonus is equivalent to one (1) month basic pay while the Cash Gift is pro-rated at P5,000.00, subject to the guidelines in reference to Fiscal Directive Number 2016-16 “Payment of year-end Bonus and Cash Gift for FY 2016 and Years Thereafter”.
However, the Year-End Bonus and other bonuses, including the Mid-Year Bonus exceeding P90,000.00 are taxable affecting a total of 15,587 PNP personnel.
Hence, are subject to the year-end tax adjustments effective November and December 2021 pursuant to T.R.A.I.N. Law (Republic Act 10963) and BIR Revenue Regulations 9-2018 and 11-2018, and shall resume the regular monthly tax deduction on January 2022.
PNP spokesperson, Police Colonel Roderick Augustus Alba clarified that the release of the 2021 year-end bonus and cash gift is deferred for personnel with pending administrative cases.
