Rainy day to most parts of PH

admin December 20, 2022

MOST parts of the country will continue to experience rains caused by three weather systems, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Tuesday.

The northeast monsoon will cause rains over the regions of Cagayan Valley and Calabarzon and the provinces of Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan and Capiz.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line and the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) will be experienced in Bicol Region, Caraga, Davao Region, Eastern and Central Visayas.

These areas may possibly experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. The northeast monsoon will also cause light rains in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and the rest of Western Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms and the trough of the LPA.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Luzon, the Visayas and the eastern section of Mindanao.

Rough to very rough seas are forecast over the seaboards of the following: Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Aurora, the northern and western coasts of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, Palawan including Calamian, Cuyo, Kalayaan Island, Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, Capiz, Aklan, Quezon including Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, including Burias Island, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern and Eastern Samar, Surigao Del Sur, Dinagat Island and Siargao Island.

PAGASA advised fishing boats and other small seacraft not to venture into the sea and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
