Planetary alignment to last ‘til June 28 – Pagasa

By Glen Ramos
admin June 24, 2022

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) today announced that the “parade of planets” will be visible in the southeastern sky until June 28, 2022.

Individuals may see and enjoy this phenomenon for around 30-minutes before sunrise.

Pag-asa said that the planets can be viewed without a telescope and will be in orderly conjunction from the Earth’s point of view for at least half an hour at daybreak.

“If the sky is clear Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will be visible and aligned in order of their distance from the Sun.

A planetary alignment like this will again occur on 2040.

“The last such event took place in 2004, and if you miss this one, you will have to wait until August 2040 for another planetary parade to take place,” Pagasa concluded.
