Pagasa issues rain warning, possible LPA formation midweek

Metrosundaily July 14, 2025

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a warning on Monday, July 14, advising the public to brace for increased rainfall across the country this week. The agency cited the potential development of a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) by midweek as a significant factor contributing to the enhanced effects of the southwest monsoon, or “habagat.”

Pagasa emphasized that the LPA’s formation could lead to heavier rainfall and potentially more severe weather conditions in several regions. Residents are urged to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions.

The agency advised the public to stay updated on weather forecasts and advisories, particularly those in areas prone to flooding and landslides.

Pagasa’s warning highlights the importance of preparedness during the monsoon season, when increased rainfall and potential for severe weather are common.

The potential formation of the LPA underscores the need for vigilance and proactive measures to mitigate the risks associated with heavy rainfall. Further updates and warnings will be issued by Pagasa as the weather situation unfolds.
