Heavy rains lash Metro Manila, surrounding provinces

admin July 3, 2025

HEAV Y rains are expected to lash Metro Manila and six nearby provinces on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

As of 5:00 a.m., Pagasa issued a rainfall warning advisory for Metro Manila, Bataan, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, Zambales, and parts of Batangas, specifically the towns of Nasugbu, Lian, Tuy, Calatagan, and Balayan.

Residents in these areas are urged to take necessary precautions and stay vigilant for potential flooding and landslides. The downpour is attributed to the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, which is bringing occasional rains across the country.

The inclement weather is not limited to Metro Manila and its neighboring provinces. Light to moderate rains, with occasional heavy downpours, are also predicted for Laguna, Quezon, and Nueva Ecija over the next three hours.

Adding to the complex weather pattern, a low-pressure area located outside the Philippine area of responsibility is contributing to cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunderstorms in parts of northern Luzon. Pagasa advises the public to monitor weather updates closely and remain prepared for further developments. The agency will continue to provide timely warnings and advisories as the situation evolves.
