REPRESENTATIVE Camille Villar joined partners from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in handing over education assistance to 2,000 college students from indigent families residing in Las Piñas City.
This effort is one of Rep. Villar’s public assistance programs aimed at helping the city’s poor families rise out from poverty. In line with her learning advocacy, the program seeks to encourage students to pursue their education despite economic hardships.
“Education is the great equalizer. Mahalagang makatapos sa pag-aaral ang ating mga kabataan nang makatulong sila sa pag-ahon sa kanilang mga pamilya mula sa kahirapan,” she said.
She stressed that through education, families have a better chance at improving their lives and providing a better future for the next generation.
“Sa pamamagitan ng ating munting tulong, nais nating ipakita sa ating mga kabataan na laging handa ang pamahalaan para tulungan sila sa pag-abot sa kanilang mga pangarap,” said Rep. Villar, who is the CEO of ALL Value Group and managing director of real estate firm Vista Land.
