NAVOTAS Representative Toby Tiangco extended his gratitude to President Bongbong Marcos for visiting the city and extending financial assistance to 3,682 fisherfolk.
“We are deeply grateful that the President took time out of his busy schedule to visit Navotas and personally meet our fisherfolk beneficiaries. His administration has provided extensive assistance to our residents and provided economic relief for thousands of Navoteños,” Tiangco said.
The solon shared that the 3,682 fisherfolk beneficiaries were set to receive P5,000 in cash assistance but this was increased to P7,500 as announced by Marcos in his remarks.
While Navotas was not directly affected by the oil spill incident in Bataan, our fisherfolk had to contend with low farmgate prices. The cash assistance given by the President will significantly help in addressing the daily needs of their families,” he added.
Prior to the President’s visit, Tiangco announced that 2,368 registered PWDs will receive assistance under the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita (AKAP) Program in celebration of the President’s birthday.
Clearly, the President is serious in his commitment to widen the reach of assistance programs of the government.
The City Government of Navotas received a total of P43.415M in assistance from the Office of the President during his visit, as well as 10 kilos of rice from Speaker Martin Romualdez for all attendees of the event.
“We continue to support the President in his vision of a Bagong Pilipinas. We see the significant reach of his assistance to Filipinos in need, as well as stronger, relevant, and responsive programs that can truly uplift the lives of our kababayans nationwide,” Tiangco said.
