CHERY Tiggo is officially leaving the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), bringing an end to its 11-year run as a club team. The Crossovers announced their departure on Tuesday.
“With heavy hearts, we announce the closing of the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers’ chapter, after 11 unforgettable years in professional volleyball,” the team said in a statement.
The announcement follows a 10th-place finish in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference, where Chery Tiggo recorded two wins and six losses.
The team expressed gratitude to its stakeholders. “To our leagues, sponsors, staff and most especially to our players, past and present, thank you for your dedication and heart,” the statement read.
The exit leaves the future uncertain for Chery Tiggo’s players, including veterans like Ara Galang, Aby Marano, Jen Nierva, Mylene Paat, and Jasmine Nabor.
Chery Tiggo began as Foton in the Philippine Superliga in 2014 before transitioning to the PVL in 2020. The team achieved a significant milestone in the 2021 Open Conference, where they defeated Creamline to become the first champions of the PVL in its professional era.
“To our incredible fans: you have been the soul of this team,” the team added. “Your unwavering support made this journey extraordinary.”
