THE Office of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez today handed over financial support to two more Filipino athletes representing the country in the upcoming Paris Olympics.
Head Executive Assistant of the Office of the Speaker, Director V Atty. Lemuel “Muel” Romero, awarded the cash assistance each to gymnasts Levi Jung-Ruivivar and Carlos Edriel Yulo during simple rites held at the House of Representatives.
“Every one of our athletes has shown remarkable dedication, resilience, and excellence, representing the Philippines on the world stage with immense pride and honor,” said Speaker Romualdez in his message to the athletes.
“We are here to support you in every way possible, ensuring you have the resources needed to succeed in Paris.”
This gesture follows the meeting of Speaker Romualdez last May 22 with a delegation of Paris-bound Filipino athletes led by Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas President Monico Puentevella.
During the meeting, Speaker Romualdez provided the same amount of financial assistance to other members of the Olympic delegation, including weightlifters John Ceniza, Eireen Ando, and Vanessa Sarno, as well as rower Joanie Delgaco.
The rest of the Filipino athletes who will represent the Philippines to the Paris Olympics will receive financial assistance from the Office of the Speaker.
Speaker Romualdez has expressed his profound admiration for the athletes’ hard work and their inspirational journeys.
“Each one of you has faced numerous challenges and made countless sacrifices to reach this point. Your dedication and perseverance are commendable, and you carry our nation’s hopes and dreams with you,” said Speaker Romualdez earlier.

Speaker Romualdez said the Filipino athletes’ participation in the Paris Olympics signifies a milestone for the nation, showcasing our country’s talent and competitive spirit on an international platform.
