PRESIDENT Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sent well wishes to Filipino athletes who will be competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics.
”To the 28 of our finest athletes are competing in Paris now for the glory of the Philippines. Let us wish them well and the best good luck,” Marcos said on Monday during his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.
The Paris Olympics is set to take place from July 26 up to August 11, 2024 in France.
Some of the Paris-bound Olympians are flag bearers Carlo Paalam and Nesthy Petecio, fellow boxers Hergie Bacyadan and Aira Villegas, gymnast Carlos Yulo, rower Joanie Delgaco, and weightlifters Elreen Ando, Vanessa Sarno, and John Ceniza.
During a send-off ceremony, Marcos reminded the athletes of their role in inspiring the nation.
