KEN Fred “Kentoy” Segura, 26, a former shooting guard for Arellano University and MPBL player, was shot and killed in an ambush in M’lang, Cotabato on Monday evening.
Segura, who hailed from Digos, Davao del Sur, succumbed to his injuries while being treated at a local hospital.
According to the M’lang Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred around 7:07 PM on January 29, 2025, along the national highway in Barangay Pulang Lupa.
Initial investigations revealed that Segura was driving his car with his nephew when they were suddenly blocked by a vehicle carrying the suspect. The suspect opened fire on Segura, striking him in the side. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Segura was rushed to the hospital but died several hours later. Police are currently investigating the incident to determine the motive behind the attack and identify the suspect for immediate arrest.
