COOLNESS by name, dominance by nature.
After three consecutive conferences without a championship, the Creamline Cool Smashers are once again sitting at the summit of the Premier Volleyball League.
Under the bright lights and deafening roar of 17,358 fans at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Thursday, Creamline showed championship poise in a nerve-wracking five-set battle, outlasting the Cignal Super Spikers, 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-11, in Game 2 to complete the sweep and capture the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference crown.
The Cool Smashers had already taken the series opener in commanding fashion last Tuesday, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16, setting the tone for what would become another statement finish to their storied campaign.
With the victory, Creamline adds an 11th overall championship to its decorated collection, highlighted by a seventh All-Filipino title and a legacy that includes three Open Conference crowns.
More than just another trophy, the triumph served as redemption for a team that had gone title-less across its previous three conferences, including the PVL On Tour preseason tilt. This time, Creamline turned pressure into performance, thriving in the chaos of a tightly contested finals stage.
Cignal, meanwhile, fell short of its first PVL championship but still walked away with a hard-earned silver medal—its third runner-up finish in franchise history. pvl.ph
