RUTHLESS killer
This is how a congressman from the administration described Ret. Police Colonel and former Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Royina Garma due to her involvement in killings in the country.
“Mr. Chair, Col. Garma is a woman disguised as a meek lamb, but deep inside her, she is a ruthless killer, killing without mercy innocent people, killing without remorse innocent victims, especially in the war on drugs,” said Surigao del Norte Rep. Johnny Pimentel.
The lawmaker made the statement after the name of Garma and her upper classmate at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), Ret. Colonel Edilberto Leonardo, was dragged into the killing of former PCSO board secretary and Ret. Police General Wesley Barayuga on July 30, 2020.
Prior to this, Garma and Leonardo were also implicated in the killing of 3 Chinese nationals involved in illegal drugs while they were detained at the Davao Penal Colony in August 2016.
When Garma was assigned to the Cebu City Police Office, 198 were killed in the war on drugs, and during a wake she attended, she reportedly got angry because only one person was being mourned despite many drug addicts in the area.
“And now, it is very clear that the mastermind behind the killing of Gen. Barayuga is none other than Col. Garma in cooperation, in cahoots with Col. Leonardo based on the testimony of our two resource persons,” Pimentel added, requesting the Quad Committee to include in their Committee report the recommendation to charge Garma, Leonardo, and their accomplices with murder in the killing of Barayuga.
Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante also reprimanded Garma for crying when detained in Congress because her child couldn’t accompany her, while many parents have been orphaned, their children killed without a fight just on suspicion of using illegal drugs.
