A 27‑year‑old woman was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Barangay Muzon South, San Jose Del Monte (SJDM) City, Bulacan, on the evening of May 24. Police reports identified the victim only by her alias “Aira,” a single woman working as a waitress and a resident of the same barangay where the incident took place.
According to the SJDM police station, the victim was resting by the roadside when the suspects suddenly appeared. One of the suspects drew a firearm and shot her repeatedly, leaving her lifeless on the scene. Immediately after seeing the victim fall, the pair fled on foot toward the boundary between San Jose Del Monte and Caloocan City in an attempt to evade capture.
Upon receiving reports of the shooting, authorities launched an immediate follow‑up operation, which led to the arrest of the two suspects shortly after. They were identified as “Bugi,” 26, and “Glen,” 23, both residents of Pabahay 2000 in Barangay Muzon South.
During a protective search conducted at the time of arrest, police recovered from Bugi a belt bag, a caliber 9mm pistol loaded with one live round in the chamber and six more in its magazine. Also seized was a blue pouch containing 13 medium heat‑sealed transparent sachets suspected to contain shabu, weighing approximately 50 grams with an estimated street value of ₱349,000. Investigators also confiscated a gray hoodie jacket stained with blood, believed to have been worn by one of the attackers during the crime.
Both suspects are currently detained at the SJDM police station, where authorities are preparing to file murder charges against them. All recovered items have been turned over to the forensic laboratory for ballistic and chemical analysis to strengthen the case against the accused.
