Typhoon Tino’s Aftermath: Cebu uncovers widespread devastation

admin November 5, 2025

AS floodwaters recede following Typhoon “Tino,” the extent of the devastation left behind in various parts of Cebu is becoming clear.

According to a report this Wednesday, floodwaters in Mandaue City reached above head level, submerging numerous homes and sweeping away vehicles, even on the streets.

In Cebu City, a subdivision was shown covered in mud, with vehicles piled on top of each other, some having been swept several blocks by the floodwaters. The subdivision is located near a river that overflowed, causing floodwaters to reach 10 to 12 feet in the area.

Liloan also suffered significant damage from the typhoon, with many houses and vehicles submerged in floodwaters.

In addition to food and water, affected residents are in need of energy sources such as solar power and generators to begin the cleanup of their homes. The aftermath of Typhoon Tino has left Cebu struggling to recover, with residents facing the daunting task of rebuilding their lives and communities.
