TWO Indian men were arrested in Calamba, Laguna early Saturday morning after authorities seized an estimated P233.2 million worth of suspected cocaine.
The operation, conducted at around 2:30 a.m. at the Villa de Calamba in Barangay La Mesa, was a buy-bust operation led by a team from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – National Capital Region Southern District Office.
During the operation, authorities recovered two kilograms of suspected cocaine contained in a brown paper bag, which was the subject of the sale. They also discovered an additional 42 kilograms of suspected cocaine inside an open carton box. The seized narcotics will be subjected to forensic examination at the PDEA Laboratory Service.
In addition to the suspected cocaine, authorities also confiscated the buy-bust money used in the operation, a brown paper bag used to contain the money, a smartphone, and the suspects’ passports.
The suspects have been identified as Alias FiveSix, 30 years old, and Alias Ali, 32, both businessmen. They are now facing charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The operation was a coordinated effort between the PDEA Regional Office-NCR Southern District Office, PDEA Regional Office 4A (RO-4A) Laguna Provincial Office, PDEA RO-4A Regional Special Enforcement Team, and the Calamba City Police Station.
