PALO, Leyte — Rep. Jude A. Acidre, Tingog Partylist Representative, together with Police Brig. Gen. Owen S. Andarino, Officer in Charge – Police Regional Office 8, graced the groundbreaking ceremony of the PRO 8 Grandstand on Sept. 15, 2023 at Camp Sec. Ruperto K. Kangelon in Palo, Leyte.
The project was made possible through the strong partnership between the PRO 8 and Tingog Partylist under the leadership of Rep. Yedda K. Romualdez and Dir. Engr. Edgar Tabacon Highways of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 8.
Designed in 2020, the PRO 8 Grandstand obtained its funding under the General Appropriations Act or from the PNP Trust Receipt Fund.
Allocated through the DPWH Infrastructure Project for Fiscal Year 2023 under Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS) flagship Program, the project was later on awarded to Gilbert O. Consebido (GOC) Builders on July 13, 2023 with the total contract amount of Php19,405,380.45.
Moreover, Tingog Partylist assured its continuous support to PRO 8 especially on local peace and order efforts in the region.
