Tingog Partylist distributes pedicabs to provide sustainable livelihood

Metrosundaily February 2, 2024

TINGOG Partylist Director for Community Engagement Karla Estrada and Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) representative Shirley Nibreja, in collaboration with the office of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, distributed 30 pedicabs at Romualdez Hall in Brgy. Calanipawan, Tacloban City, Thursday afternoon.

The joint effort aims to foster diversified livelihood opportunities in line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas to deliver immediate essential services and opportunities to the Filipino people.

Reps. Yedda K. Romualdez and Jude Acidre are Tingog representatives in the House of Representatives.

Acidre said the Diversified Livelihood Project is a commitment to enhancing economic prospects for local communities.

He said the distribution of pedicabs is a step towards providing sustainable livelihood.

Estrada underscored the importance of such initiatives in creating avenues for self-reliance and economic empowerment.

“Tingog Partylist group is working on empowering individuals, and the pedicab distribution is a meaningful step towards achieving that by providing a practical means of livelihood,” Acidre said.

Nibreja commended the collaborative efforts and highlighted the role of diversified livelihood projects in building resilient communities.

The recipients expressed gratitude to Tingog Partylist and Speaker Romualdez for the opportunity to improve their economic status.

Rep. Yedda and Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez said the program is part of President Marcos’ commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift local communities under Bagong Pilipinas.

They said that partnerships between government entities and advocacy groups in driving positive change are very significant.
