AFAB, MARIVELES, Bataan – The more or less 40,000 total work force of the State-owned Authority of Freeport Area of Bataan( AFAB) are now free of Covid-19.
This was revealed yesterday by AFAB administrator Emmanuel Pineda to this writer who said that they were happy to inform the public that AFAB, once the epicenter of thecorona virus, has now negative of the virus based on the latest findings of the Department of Health and the Interagency Task Force. Owing to this good development, AFAB has been gradually back to new normal and that the climate of fear had been erased among the company executives, workers and personnel.
Asked what they did in achieving the zero covid case, Administrator Pineda said: “ We were very strict in implementing health protocols such as issuing tickets to those who have violated it.”
AFAB, the provincial government led by Gov Abet Garcia and the municipality of Mariveles led by Mayor Jocelyn Castañeda had been worked hand in hand for the containment of the dreaded virus and in putting up simultaneous vaccinations sites, fastracking the inoculation of the residents and workers.
Most of the workers in AFAB reside in this industrial town.
In Bataan, Gov Garcia reported yesterday that the province has now only 73 active cases, and is getting lower every day.
In Mariveles town, which has the largest population in Bataan being the site of AFAB, has only 10 active cases.
