A SOLDIER shot and killed his wife, mother-in-law, and their driver yesterday in the town of Gamu.
The fatalities were identified as Erlinda Ajel, the suspect’s wife, her mother Lolita Ramos, and their driver Rolando Amaba, all residents of Benito Soliven, Isabela.
Currently, the suspect, Sgt. Mark Angelo Ajel, assigned to the 503rd Infantry Brigade, Calanan, Tabuk City, Kalinga, is detained in the lock-up facility of Gamu Police Station.
According to the report from Gamu Police Station, the crime occurred on Thursday (October 10, 2024) inside the said camp at the 5th Infantry Division, Brgy. Upi, Gamu, Isabela. Sgt. Rommel Narag, in his statement to the police, mentioned seeing a van passing through the camp, and minutes later, he heard consecutive gunshots.
He immediately informed his colleagues about the shots and they swiftly responded.
Upon reaching the suspect’s vehicle, they found him holding the gun, leading to his prompt arrest while the victims were rushed to the hospital, but were declared dead by the doctor.
Authorities are currently investigating the true motive behind the crime. The suspect is facing charges of parricide and 2 counts of murder.
