THE Philippine National Police (PNP) is still on hot pursuit against six suspects of the ambush incident in Ampatuan town, Maguindanao killing two police officers and wounding two others.
The officers were about to serve Warrants of Arrest for Robbery with Violence Against or Intimidation of Persons when waylaid by heavily armed suspects.
“We already have the identity of the suspects and our personnel are working double time to bring justice to where it should be. We ask for the public to be vigilant in their sorrounding and report any suspiscious-looking men in their area,” PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said.
Azurin expresses his deepest sympathy to the PNP personnel who were directly hit by the attack.
Those who died identified as PLT Reynaldo Samson (Chief of Police) and PCpl Salipuden Endab.
Wounded personnel were PCpl Rogelio Dela Cuesta Jr. and PCpl Marc Clint Dayaday.
“They were fulfilling their duties as law enforcers when confronted with such violent action. Their loyalty to their commitment to serve and protect the nation will be remembered,” Asurin said.
