THE Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP HPG) announced on Thursday the confiscation of seven allegedly unregistered luxury cars in Bulacan.

The vehicles were discovered idling at a gas station along the Northern Luzon Expressway (NLEx) in Marilao town on Monday night, following a tip from a concerned citizen, according to HPG spokesperson Lt. Nadame Malang.

The concerned citizen alerted authorities due to the unusual presence of seven luxury cars in one location for an extended period.

Upon investigation, HPG operatives confirmed that the vehicles were using improvised license plates, leading to the discovery that they were unregistered.

The confiscated vehicles include a Ferrari, a Toyota Supra, a BMW M2 Coupé, a Toyota Land Cruiser, two Nissan GTRs, and a Maserati.

The seven drivers, identified as “businessmen,” were apprehended and will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 4136, specifically reckless driving for operating unregistered vehicles.

The seized luxury cars have been turned over to the Land Transportation Office central office in Quezon City. Authorities are still investigating the reason for the vehicles’ presence at the NLEx gas station. The HPG is also exploring potential connections between the seized cars and the luxury vehicles owned by Curlee and Sarah Discaya, the couple at the center of a recent corruption scandal.
