AUTHORITIES seized various smuggled goods in a warehouse at Pandi, Bulacan on Wednesday.
A Letter of Authority (LOA) and Mission Order against owners/ representatives/ or whoever is in possession of the imported goods stored at the said location was issued by the Commissioner of Customs.
The implementing team seized various imported unregistered mosquito coils, motorcycle parts/accessories, kitchenwares, TV antennas, power tools, infringed toys, and books, among others, with an estimated value amounting to P80,000,000.
The said operation was coordinated with the local Philippine National Police (PNP) and barangay officials before proceeding and implementing the LOA.
The smuggled goods shall be subjected to seizure and forfeiture proceedings in violation of Republic Act No. 8293 “Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines” and Section 1113 “Property Subject to Seizure and Forfeiture” under RA No. 10863, otherwise known as Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), concerning pertinent customs laws, rules, and regulations.
