OPERATIVES from Police Regional Office Cordillera destroyed P15.9 million worth of marijuana in three plantation sites in Kalinga over the weekend, Philippine National Police Chief General Dionardo Carlos announced.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, PGen Carlos said that joint operatives of 1503 RMFB15, Tinglayan MPS, 141 SAF, PDEA CAR, RDEU/RSOG, DEU, and 50IBPA conducted clearing operations from February 27 to 28, 2022 at Quadrant 1, Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga that resulted in the discovery, uprooting, and burning of over 15,000 marijuana stalks, 30,000 grams of MJ dried leaves, 80,000 dried MJ seeds, 70,000 grams of powdered MJ seeds, and 34,000 pcs of FGMJP with an estimated SDP value of Php15,975,000.00, planted in three plantation sites with a combined estimated land area of 5,500 sqm. No cultivator was apprehended during the said operation.
PGen Carlos lauded the combined forces of the PNP and Philippine Army for yet another sterling accomplishment as they continue their collaborative efforts to conduct massive marijuana eradication in the mountains of Cordilleras.
“We are warning those who are engaged in this prohibited trade to stop your devious activities because we assure everyone an intensified police operations to thwart your illegal undertakings” PGen Carlos added.
