THE remains of a missing Southern Police District (SPD) Station 1 personnel and his companion were found in Angono, Rizal, last Saturday, June 8.
In a report on Monday, SPD disclosed that one of its personnel and another individual — whom it did not identify — were discovered dead along May Puso Avenue in Barangay Kalayaan around 5:30 p.m.
Police said that the two were last seen on May 23 around 11:30 p.m. after they were reportedly “accosted” by two personnel identified as Patrolman Rannie Cruz and Patrolman Marielle Benedito as reported on Inquirer.net
According to SPD, the two victims “were boarded in a police mobile for allegedly robbing a foreign national” along JP Rizal Extension in Barangay Cembo, Taguig City.
In line with this, Cruz, Benedito, as well as Corporal Arnel Paglicawan and Patrolman Hanz Christian Francisco, were relieved from their posts in SPD 1.
Captain Kenny John Rapiz, the precinct commander, was also relieved from his post.
SPD said they are all under the custody of its personnel holding and accounting unit, pending the filing of criminal and administrative complaints against them.
