POLICE investigators are looking deeper into the source of a box of Marijuana coming from an ill-fated vehicle in Kennon Road, Tuba, Benguet.
Initial reports disclosed that at 4:40 a.m. of July 3, a vehicular traffic accident transpired involving a chili orange Ford Ranger pick-up traversing towards the lowland of Baguio City. Upon reaching the sharp curve of the road, the vehicle malfunctioned that caused the vehicle to turn upside down.
The driver Jimmsie Salazar and passenger Justine Baisa sustained injuries and were brought to the nearest hospital.
A resident of the said area later informed the responding personnel of Tuba Municipal Police Station and BCPO Station 8 that she saw the vehicle’s occupants were pulling a box from the car and threw it into the river.
Upon verification, authorities discovered the box which contained pieces of tubular form suspected to be marijuana worth P1.44 million.
“It’s a good thing that we have witnesses who helped us recover the box containing illegal drugs. Now, our investigators are identifying where this came from and the destination where the items will be delivered,” PNP OIC Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said.
The pieces of evidence and witnesses’ account underwent proper documentation to be used for the filing of charges against the two individuals.
