STATE seismologists from Phivolcs reported a strong magnitude 5 earthquake hit the province of Batangas on Friday morning, fearing both damages and aftershocks.
The epicenter of the rumbling was recorded southwest of Calaca, Batangas at around 8:24 a.m. and had tectonic origins.

Phivolcs is expecting both damages and aftershocks due to earthquake.
“So far everything’s okay. No casualties although this is the epicentre,” said Rafael Cuevas, a disaster agency official in Calaca City in Batangas province.
