A MAGNITUDE 5.2 earthquake shook La Union on Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The quake struck at 10:36 a.m., its epicenter located 31 kilometers northwest of Luna, La Union at 16.88°N, 120.08°E. With a depth of 10 kilometers, PHIVOLCS classified the earthquake as tectonic in origin.
Intensity IV shaking was reported in Candon City and Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, while Intensity III was felt in Sinait, Ilocos Sur. Intensity II was observed in Bangued, Abra; Tagudin, Ilocos Sur; San Fernando and Aringay, La Union; and Bani, Infanta, and Bolinao in Pangasinan. Intensity I was felt in Baguio City.
No damage has been reported thus far.
