A MAGNITUDE 5.9 earthquake hit Agusan del Sur on Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake’s epicenter was located at 08.67°N, 125.63°E – 002 km S 63° W of the municipality of Esperanza.
The tectonic quake occurred at 11:22 a.m. and had a depth of 27 km.
It was felt at Intensity II in the City of Kidapawan in Cotabato, and at Intensity I in Arakan and Kabacan in Cotabato.
PHIVOLCS said damage and aftershocks are to be expected.
