THE Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said a magnitude 5.8 earthquake was recorded in Maconacon, Isabela on Thursday morning.
Based on its bulletin, the Phivolcs said the earthquake, which happened at 08:49 a.m., was tectonic in origin with a depth of focus of 42 kilometers.
Intensity V was reported in Penablanca, Enrile, and Tuguegarao City in Cagayan, according to PHIVOLCS.
Intensity IV was experienced in Batac City, Ilocos Norte.
Meanwhile, Intensity II was felt in Pasuquin, Bacarra, and Laoag City in Ilocos Norte.
Aftershocks were to be expected, Phivolcs said.
