THE Province of Ilocos Norte has been declared under a “State of Calamity” following the devastating impact of Super Typhoon “Egay.”
The typhoon brought heavy rain, strong winds, and severe floods that caused massive damages to properties, agricultural crops, and disruption of means of livelihood in different areas of the Province.
As of the latest update at 2:00 p.m. today, several municipalities, including Burgos, Bangui, Dumalneg, Pagudpud, Vintar, Adams, Pasuquin, and Bacarra, are still facing the brunt of the typhoon, as they are currently under Signal No. 4. Meanwhile, the rest of the province is also experiencing significant effects under Signal No. 3.
Efforts to assess the full extent of the damage and provide necessary aid and relief to affected communities are underway. The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and national government agencies are working tirelessly to restore essential services, address immediate needs, and provide support to those affected by the disaster.
